Description
Produced using unpeated Scottish Barley, Bruichladdich matured this whisky in American White Oak casks, before bottling at 50% Abv. For the folks behind Bruichladdich Distillery, where they source the barley, and the overall terroir is important. It shows the whisky they are selling has strong links to Scotland, whereas larger distillers can often source their barley from (gasp!) England and further afield. Nose – A burst of barley sugar, and a dash of mint, followed by freshly cut wild flowers: buttercups, daisy, meadowsweet, primrose and cherry blossom. With a little water, caramelised fruits, lemon drops, honey and orange fudge. Palate – Sweet oak notes, barley sugar, ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt.
