Description
This edition is the first of the distillery’s of 15 years of age, aged in specially burned American oak barrels, to imbue the distillery’s sweet, complex flavours with fresh intensity. Talisker has been an integral part of the island of Skye’s shoreline ecosystem since 1830, and is today the oldest distillery still in operation on the island. Known around the world for its generous body, rich style and powerful peppery finish, its liquid is shaped by the sea, like an oyster pool teeming with life in the clear waters of the west coast of the island. Nose: maritime, with notes of sea salt, dried seaweed, shelled ship hull varnish and warm sand, on a burnt peat background
Palate: creamy, surprisingly rich and sweet taste, before giving way to a growing spicy character, with a hint of salt and chilli
Final: persistent, spicy and dry.
